Rika Nishikawa

Rika Nishikawa is a filmmaker currently working as a freelance based on NYC with experience in short film and music video.
She moved to NYC from Japan and studied about film making at the New York Film Academy (NYFA) as a filmmaker. While she was a student at the NYFA, she directed 8 short films and joined over 30 short films as a crew member in a year. For her thesis production, she directed about 15 minutes short film it's titled "With Robert". After her graduation, she keeps working on the set as a crew member. She is very eager to work as a filmmaker. she is skilled at directing, lighting G&E, sound technician and editor.
Her coursework at the NYFA has given her an intensive, hands-on training in the various areas of filmmaking including screenwriting, directing, editing, and producing. She is now actively looking to gain experience in creative environments where she can further develop her own style and hone her skills, and contribute to the creative process. She has been 1st AD, 1st AC, 2nd AC, grip, gaffer and sound technician. She is especially interested in extending her AD and Grip portfolio on the sets.
She is very comfortable working in high-stress, deadline-driven environments and can multi-task efficiently and with ease. She has strong inter-personal and organizational capabilities, and she has led teams of professionals in production crews and content strategy related projects. She has written scripts, developed ideas, and produced lifestyle. She is well versed with working on set, and has experience managing the pre and the post-production process for short films and music video.
